Maine coons have been around for more than a century, but the Siberian line dates back at least to 1000 A.D. Some breeders speculate that the breed developed when pet kitties mated with wild Asian and European cats. Maine coons are probably further removed from their wild ancestors, despite the myth that they descended from raccoons. More likely, they're a cross of American shorthairs and Angoras or Norwegian forest cats.
Beware; Buying a Siberian Kitten; before you buy a kitten
Welcome to Siberian Cats of Pennsylvania. We are a home based, smoke free cattery situated outside of Dallas, Texas. We specialize in finding loving homes for our color point and traditional Siberians in the Pennsylvania area. Our kittens travel to their new homes aboard United Airlines’ Pet-Safe Program. Under this program Live Cargo, depending on the time of the year, is transported to and from the aircraft in heated or air conditioned vehicles. They are loaded last and unloaded first. The kittens travel in a temperature controlled section of the plane situated directly under the cockpit. This area shares the same humidity and temperature control as does the cockpit. We have been using the Pet-Safe Program for about seven years now and are very pleased with the service. With United we are able to ship kittens into Philadelphia International (PHL), Pittsburgh International (PIT), Newark Liberty International (EWR), LaGuardia (LGA) and sometimes into Harrisburg International MDT) and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International (AVP).
The cost for a siberian kitten ranges anywhere between $1300 - $1600.

Daisley Siberians Cattery - Home
Many of you are very interested in the hypoallergenic qualities of the Siberian cat. At 1 Above Siberian Cats, we take the extra steps necessary to test our adult Siberians cats at a specialized lab to measure their own individual FEL-D1 levels. On the FEL-D1 scale of 1 to 35, we are very proud to state that ALL the adult Siberian cats in our breeding program range from a mere 1.3 to 4.8 on the FEL-D1 scale! Very few breeders can make this claim and back it up with documentation. This guarantees that all kittens from 1 Above Siberian Cats also score very low on the FEL-D1 scale, and it is proof that we are doing our very best to produce the most hypoallergenic kittens possible. We have provided a separate page explaining cat allergies, FEL-D1 and the Siberian cat.
